Why doesn't the iPod have these basic features. iTunes get with the program....

Apple pursuing the purchase of ARM

The rumor mill has been spinning today. The newest news is that Apple may be contemplating the purchase of ARM. This may be wildly inaccurate but my initial gut instinct, is the utter devastation that this would be causing on the technical landscape of: Tablet computing, mobile phone computing, netbooks and other various web enabled (smart) appliances. Imagine a comparison of Microsoft buying Intel back in 1999. This would be along the same level of severity.

iPhone 4 video on youtube

Gizmodo certainly ruffled a few feathers by showing the lost iPhone. Mac apologists are angry at them behaving thus. This video probably won't be around too long if the Apple fascists bring the litigation hammer down. Maybe someone should post this info up on wikileaks.

HTC Hero 2.1 update on Sprint coming May 9th.

Although it has been a moving date due (last told we were expecting the update on April 9th), it looks as though the update date for the HTC Hero on Sprint has now been pushed back to May 9th. Owning this phone has been an exercise in patience. It is only a few months old and is still only running on 1.5 (that is if I had kept mine stock). It is possible the delay is a result of the SenseUI developed by HTC, or it is possible the delay is a result of Sprint dragging it's feet to get these updates out to the people.

Microsoft Pink: umm er Kin (too little, too late.)

Today Microsoft had a Live Event for their "new" mobile devices previously codenamed Pink. Now far be it for me to claim I understand their business strategy in the mobile arena, but this is so underwhelming it is deeply disturbing. I understand the concept of a social media centric phone. However what I do not get is how this stacks up against any real smartphone. Underwhelming processor specs, inferior interface, no real ability to extend the device beyond its intended purpose. The target market is obviously skewed towards the fifteen to twenty five year old demographic.
